Alter Ego 2008

Very deep ruby colour. Light oaky flavours on the nose. Velvety texture. Dark fruits - black cherries and berries on the palate. Long, soft and luxuriant. Very sensuous and supple: if there was any criticism one could make it is perhaps a little too sybaritic. Château Palmer claims to have been the first Château to develop a completely new approach for the selection and elaboration of its second wines as early as the end of the 90's when Alter Ego was created. Far from the original concept of second wine (elaborated with the lots not selected for the Grand Vin), Alter Ego and Chateau Palmer are elaborated as two interpretations of the vintage from the same vineyard.
