Les Villiers de Caronne 2009

Dark, clear garnet colour. Quite tannic and dry which translates into a little austerity. Some greenness in the back palate. Apparent acidity.

At a cru bourgeois level the second wine is often a leftover that winemakers try to elaborate as well as they can. The cost is the same as the first wine except for the barreling of course. ‘We always lose money on it’ is a refrain which doubtless renders its execution a little uncertain.
