Wine producer: Champagne Bollinger
The House of Bollinger has been making its great Champagnes since 1829. The hallmark style of their House is a powerful, refined and complex Champagne. This inimitable Bollinger style is recognised by Champagne lovers the world over. It is the fruit of rigorous methods coupled to a respect for principles handed down from one generation to the next that has always valued experience above all. Champagne Bollinger are constantly looking for perfection examining even the minutest detail of its production for improvement. Bollinger's uncompromising independent spirit is put at the service of producing a wine of distinction - always without ostentation.
The 165 hectares of Bollinger vineyards are largely designated 'Grands' and 'Premiers' crus. It is mostly planted with Pinot Noir, the required component for giving the wine an intensity which is the backbone of the Bollinger style. The continuity of this style is assured by an exceptional collection of more than 700,000 magnums of their reserve wines: Champagne Bollinger is the only house to have at its disposal such an aroma palette, which provides the precision it needs to complete its assemblages. The best crus benefit from a vinification in wood thanks to a gallery of 3,500 small old oak barrels which help to micro-oxygenate the wines: the secret to their excellent ageing capacity and evidence of their extreme pursuit in quality.
All of their wines are aged in their cellars two to three times longer than required by the Appellation, because a great wine needs the luxury of time to best express its personality.
In 1884 Bollinger was granted a Royal Warrant, the emblem of official suppliers to the Court of Her Majesty the Queen.
