Rod Phillips is a wine author and journalist who lives in Ottawa, Canada. He is professor of history at Carleton University (where he gives courses on the history of food and drink), and is the author of the widely translated A short history of wine and the forthcoming Alcohol: a global history, among other works. He is wine writer and contributing editor of NUVO magazine, writes a weekly wine column for Ottawa’s main daily newspaper, and regularly contributes to the international wine media.
