Various discussions have taken place about the merits of teeth brushing if you're about to embark on some serious wine tasting. Some people even clip in some kind of prosthesis to protect the teeth although how one can properly taste wine with this in place is hard to imagine. There's even a chewing gum to neutralise the acids in one's mouth. A Master of Wine (he's a dentist) has recommended not cleaning one's teeth on the day of a big tasting.

But it's is a good idea to postpone any brushing for a little while if one has just consumed acidic drinks - wine but also juices.
