Pontet-Canet 2011

Deep opaque colour. Pontet-Canet packs a terrific punch - lots of dark fruit berries, coffee, mocha - in other words wonderfully complex. Structured and meaty this wine will stay the pace and is definitely one of the wines of this vintage. Not an easy year to manage however. The yield on the estate was down to 32hl/ha and the weight of the Cabernet Sauvignon crop was cut by 25% on account of the drought conditions which produced small berries - 'like a woman's pearl necklace' exclaimed Alfred Tesseron. Pontet-Canet continues to excel and impress with its wines.
