Les Hauts de Smith 2009

Dark garnet colour. Fruity on the palate and very drinkable with soft tannins. Very likeable although the alcohol seems a little pushed. Tannins come to the fore later coupled with cinnamon flavours. Les Hauts de Smith is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The common element of this and the grand vin is the terroir, whilst the distinction is the age of the vines.
