Brumus

Suave and sophisticated.
Suave and sophisticated.

A bar (and restaurant) in the hotel idiom. Jazz music. Laid back red decor which works better at night when it takes on a warmer atmosphere, conveniently situated at the bottom of Haymarket. Good list of wines by the glass from around the world to accompany well cooked light snacks. Les Nuages Touraine Sauvignon blanc, 2007 £7.25 is good value. It has a moderate list but their reserve wine list, whilst small, is quite exceptional if not particularly good value: Krug Grand cuvée £155. Amarone 'La Marega; La Salette 2004 £70, Chassagne Montrachet Domaine Blain Gagnard 2004 £68, Hermitage Blanc Domaine Gerard Chave, 2000 £255, and Barolo Germano 2004, £62. Not a dud wine on its rather restricted list. The bar has a view on to Haymarket with windows all around giving good light during the day. There are comfortable tables and chairs. It has a very well stocked bar with every kind of mixer and spirit you can think of. The pre-theatre crowd are less discerning but the hotel guests are, but then one might ask, who is paying? For people who like a modern hotel environment. Brumus is the name of the family dog.
